"What if my kids don't behave? If they act crazy, it would be embarrassing and it could ruin the photos!" Yup, I've heard that before! If your kids are angels, disregard this. But for my family, this is part of the challenge. Luckily, it's also part of fun. My youngest insists on sticking out his tongue and closing one eye if anyone tries to take is picture. We work through it.

I'm sharing this to calm your nerves and let you know that a big part of my job is planning ahead, smoothing these wrinkles, and offering bottomless patience. I'm not just there to capture the romantic vision of your perfect family. We will, of course, get these shots (and they'll be a perfect gift for grandma) but I'm looking for those images that capture your personalities as well.

I just did a photo shoot for a long-time client. Her son's name is Knox. During his photo shoot, he jumped on his bed, we played with his stuffed animals, and made crazy faces at each other. Upon viewing his pictures, she sent me this message: "Oh my god I love them! You captured his Knoxness perfectly. Ugh, now to decide on my favs.... ❤️❤️"

During your shoot, let's just have fun; and as an artist, I'll share the way I see you and your family...because all of it's beautiful.

Angie - L❤️VE how you capture those special moments that were not planned...my favorites are the pictures that are just so “that kid!” I never worry that there will not be good pictures when you are on the job!

Rachel - If you really want your personality to show, Kelly is the artistic photographer you want! I have worked with her for years, personally and professionally, and she always brings out the "real" you. Professionally, she takes pictures for my theatre, and every shot she takes, the parents are amazed by the expressions she captures and the fun everyone has during the photo shoot! Personally, she was THE ONE to choose for my daughters graduation pictures. The feeling that came through each and every picture, the colors she brought out and the final beautiful, artistic photo's, warm my heart beyond words. She loves what she does, and it shows.
