Abby’s Photo Shoot: MN High School Senior Photography

After 10 years of doing this, I admit I still get nervous before each session: equipment, lighting, location, posing, time, weather, my client’s experience...there’s a lot that needs to come together at once to make it all successful. This one was different, however. It was one of the first senior sessions I did post shut-down. During my preparations this time, I looked forward to it with excitement and gratitude. I get to do this as my job!

What made it even better is that Abby and her family welcomed me into her story. We talked about her Grandmas and Grandpa, her little sister, the fact that she’s kind of a country girl stuck in the city, her love for animals and ballet. I learned that she's maybe a bit of a Daddy’s girl (you'd see what I mean if you saw them together). She's not too chatty but her demeanor and smile says everything you need to get to know her. So thank you for opening up. Thank you for trusting me. It made this, I hope, a richer experience for both of us!
